Thailand Sees 9.8% Jump in Business Registrations in July

Published on: Sep 11, 2025 | Author: Marketing & Communications

Thailand New Business Registrations surged in July 2025, signaling renewed confidence among entrepreneurs. The Department of Business Development reported 7,710 new businesses registered in July, a 9.78% increase compared to July 2024. This rise marks an important sign of post-pandemic momentum as entrepreneurs re-enter the market with new ideas and investments.

The combined registered capital of these new businesses exceeded 22 billion baht, underscoring not only the volume of new ventures but also the seriousness of financial commitments. Investors and entrepreneurs alike appear ready to explore opportunities despite broader economic uncertainties.

Volatility but Steady Long-Term Growth

While July saw impressive growth, the first seven months of 2025 presented a more complex picture. Between January and July, Thailand recorded 51,548 new business registrations. This figure represents a 4.93% decline compared to the same period in 2024. Still, officials expect total registrations for the year to reach between 85,000 and 90,000, maintaining levels similar to last year.

Looking at historical data, the entrepreneurial ecosystem has shown steady growth. Thailand registered 48,907 new businesses in 2016, up from 44,809 in 2015. By 2022, the number had grown to 76,488. New business density—measured as registrations per 1,000 people aged 15–64—stood at 1.54 in 2022, reflecting growing entrepreneurial activity relative to population size.

Sector-wise, general building construction, real estate, and restaurants led registrations in 2025. At the same time, emerging industries such as vending machines, e-commerce, and electric vehicles are becoming key drivers of growth. These trends highlight how entrepreneurs are responding to changing consumer behavior, digital adoption, and sustainability goals.

The July 2025 spike in Thailand New Business Registrations can therefore be seen as part of a broader narrative. Entrepreneurs are not only rebuilding after the pandemic but also adapting to new market opportunities. Despite temporary slowdowns in certain periods, the overall trajectory suggests resilience and long-term expansion in Thailand’s business landscape.
